The Gardner System
A complicated Point system to determine the Football Champion in the WPIAL
(A) Only games played with the WPIAL teams in your class will be recorded.
(b) 100 points shall be awarded for each game won;
(c) 50 points shall be awarded for each game tied;
(d) 10 points shall be awarded for each game the defeated team wins;
(e) 5 points shall be awarded for each game the defeated team ties;
(f) 5 points shall be awarded for each game the tied team wins:
(g) The total points won divided by the number of games played shall equal the point standing of the teams.
(h) Schools played outside of a school's class shall not affect the said school's standing, but a minimum of five games within its class must be played in order to be considered for championship.
(i) In case of a tie, identical trophies shall be awarded.
